Police are investing a series of shootings is Tulsa, Oklahoma which occurred this past Friday. Yesterday two roommates, Jake England (19) and Alvin Watts (32) were arrested in connection to the shootings... Police claim they do not know which of the men pulled the trigger, but that both men will be charged.
Five people were shot on the spree, three of whom died. There does not appear to be any connection between the shooters and the victims, however police believe that the victims could have been targeted because they are black... shortly before the shootings, England had posted that it had been two years since his father was killed by a black man, whom he referred to with a racial slur. Police released that they were still looking for other motives, but all signs seem to poin If convicted on the crime, both men could face the death penalty.

That is just stupid. There is no reason to shoot anyone, let alone 5 different people. If they were shot because of their skin color, these men definitely deserve a harsh punishment.

Thats messed up to kill random black people because one black guy killed the man's father. If he went after the guy who killed his dad that would make sense but what they did is horrible and racist. I usually don't support the death penalty. I think the only people who should be executed are serial killers and people who go on these killing sprees like this. So yea give 'em the chair or whatever they're doing now.

This is absolutely ridiculous! It's so messed up to kill random black people just because your family member was killed by a black man. Do you think England would have wanted to kill random white people if his father was killed by a white male? I think not! Seriously, what has this world come to?! I hope these men get in a lot of trouble, what they did was so wrong. I don't think these men deserve the death penalty, I honestly don't think anyone does. But, it also wasn't my family member. These men should just be put in jail for a while because they weren't technically the men who pulled the trigger, or were they...

I never feel like the death penalty is a fair punishment. No one deserves to have their life ended because they did something wrong. If I were the person determining the punishment in this situation, and it turned out that the men did commit murder, I would give them a life sentence in jail.

This is a very bad story! I hate hearing stories where people are getting shot for the stupidest reasons. It is terrible to hear that these people were shot just because of the color of their skin color. Racism is terrible and it needs to come to an end. It was not right that these people killed other black people just because his father was killed by a black man. This man should receive harsh punishment and go in jail for a very long time. I don't think the person should receive the punishment of death penalty. This man needs to live and suffer. What he did was terribly wrong and his actions needs to sink in and hurt him deeply. People need to learn from their actions.

I feel like it is rediculous when people commit a murder or a wrong doing due to skin color. This blog makes me sick. I do believe that this men deserve the harshest punishment. If anything, they don't deserve to die, they deserve to stay in a small cell forever. Killing them will not make anything better or bring those peoPle back.

I hope that the necessary actions are taken to ensure that the punishments given for this matter are fair. I don't believe that both of these men should receive the death penalty if it had been only one of them who pulled the trigger. The guy who just happened to be associated with the wrong person should still receive some sort of punishment, but I think that the death penalty is too harsh. Some people may say that the death penalty is actually a mild punishment since then they won't have to live with the guilt, but I think that it is not a mild punishment because if they die they cannot even get a chance for redemption. However, if the reason they targeted these innocent people was because England held a grudge against blacks, I feel no sympathy for him. He should not hate any certain groups of people just people he holds a grudge against them for something one person did. I hope that all turns out well...

That's so sad, it's a shame that three innocent people were killed and two were injured. These two guys who shot them deserve to rot in jail, but I don't think they should get the death penalty. I think that should be for only really huge criminals that put people in danger just by being alive. If we used the death penalty on these guys, it'd just be killing to punish killing, which doesn't make much sense to me.

That's so random.. Why kill a random black person just because a black person killed your father? I understand if you were to find the actual person who killed your father, but that's still never a good reason to kill someone. And I personally don't think the death penalty should ever be an option. You shouldn't take someone's life just becasue they did something wrong.

I believe that this is very bad and those people should be punshied but don't you think the death penalty is a little harsh? I would say 20 to life with no bail or be let out on probation, that seems better then doing what these men did and kill them.

What happened to ‘You’re innocent until proven guilty? I agree with Jin in the fact that both men should not be charged with the death penalty, unless authorities are undoubtedly positive that England AND Watts pulled their triggers. First of all, the death punishment for this occurrence is not appropriate, and if one innocent man out of the two was killed it would be even worse. Do not get me wrong, I agree with the death penalty in certain cases, but not having to face punishment for attempting to murder five people is immoral. Since when is death a punishment? A punishment can be defined as the penalty for wrongdoing in the hopes that future occurrences can be prevented. It is impossible to learn from your actions and feel guilty if you are dead. In cases where serial killers of multiple different offenses and mental criminals are involved this punishment is essential. However, let the people in prison deal with England and Watts racism during their deserved lifetime term.

I think the man who did this (and his accomplice) should both get the death penalty. Men like that shouldn't even be allowed to live in prison, because while they stand behind bars, alive, 3 families are watching caskets being lowered way before they should be. Any man (or women) who thinks that what happened to their relative gives them the reason to justify that shooting 5 random people (killing three) should face the worst fate as they dealt.

The fact that somebody killed other people because of the color of their skin is wrong. This man took it out on those five people most likely due to the fact that a black man killed his father. What do these five people have to do with his father being killed? There is no way anybody can blame a whole race based on one member.

This is so stupid, England, if he was the shooter, is definatly more rascist than the man he refferd to as "black slur" by shooting five people. no one should be shooting anyone, although its still bad racist people should use their voices to state opinions, not physical violence.

I find that insanley messed up. Besides the fact that the guy whose father was shot is holding a grudge against all black people aparently, he's also a murderer, or a suspected murderer now. I can see where he would be angry at the person who killed his father, but to go on a shooting spree is way over the top.If you hold a grudge against someone who killed someone youlove, that's completely understandable, but to go and kill people because they are the same race is completely uncalled for.

Random hate crimes like this are absolutely ridiculous and disgusting. Just because ONE person of a certain race committed a crime doesn't mean you need to take it out on others of the same race who had nothing to do with it. These two men both sound guilty and should be punished for taking three innocent lives.

I understand that 3 people died and 2 people are injured, but what i dont understand is how these men are not able to prove these deaths, but yet they could be put to death. Its for this reason that i do no believe in the death penalty. These men could potentially be put to death, and no one is even positive whether or not they even commited this crime.

I know it is hard for the men to understand, but not every single black person was behind one man's death. These men behaved irrationally and their actions can not be excused. I agree with what Shae said, to hold a grudge is one thing but to go on a killing spree is a whole other situation.

It is such a shame that the people of today do not have the decency to even think about putting a little effort into investigating something further. Instead they decide to go by their old instinct and try and frame the black guy. There was no legit evidence that put them as prime suspects, but apparently to a degree of "supposed' racism that people got lazy and arrested them. So if I were to so happen to be by the crime scene and some black guy were to be near it along with me would they arrest me or the guy next to me? Perhaps even both, but the truth of the matter is, that there is still a somewhat degree of racism out there and people are paying for it without even knowing what happened.

First of all, no one should be killed because of their skin color. We are all the same no matter what skin color or where you come from we are all one race...the human race. There is never a reason to kill someone for being black or white, ever. I dont think the death penalty is good thing, although i think it is acceptable only in the case if that person killed someone else. Why should you be able to live if you took someone elses life? Especially 3!? They deserve any punishment they get. Comments are closed.
