During the next week or so you will hear speeches about the promises of the future, all the doors you will walk through and the walls you will knock down; but those things don't just happen, you need to make them happen. But as you prepare to walk out the doors of Pilgrim as a student just one more time, please allow me to teach you one last lesson:
What ever you end up doing with your lives please allow one simple thing to be your guiding principle... seek to do good in the world; wake up every single day with the intent to make the world better in some small way. In talking to many of you over the past few weeks, I've realized that so many of you really don't know what you want to do or are afraid of that next step. Last week I wrote something in one of your yearbooks that I had never written before. And while it was a personal message specifically to someone I hold in very high regard, I realize it can apply generally to all of you, and because of that I hope she will forgive me for reusing it here:
Follow your hearts, and you will never be lost.
And it really is as simply as that. All the tests are over, portfolios graded, and projects presented...
Now what?
