Last week, the billionaire owner of the New England Patriots, Robert Kraft, was accused of soliciting a prostitute at a massage parlor in Florida. The location was part of a four month long undercover operation and according to authorities Mr. Kraft and up to 200 other men are on tape participating in illegal activity. Police maintain that the purpose of the operation was also aimed at the very serious issue of sex trafficking, as many of the women are essentially sex-slaves from China.
Mr. Kraft has maintained his innocence, but it is likely a warrant will be issued for his arrest as early on Monday. Aside from Mr. Kraft's alleged illegal actions, this case has re-opened a national debate about whether or not prostitution should be legal, monitored, and taxed. The theory being that if it were made legal, the sex-slave trade would essentially be closed down. That remains to be seen and there are plenty of legal and moral reasons to keep prostitution illegal.
What are your thoughts on this case and with the potential for legalization?
