Think how much you have changed during the past four years... I know that I’m a completely different person… a stronger person, a better person, a more whole person than I was back in August of 2008 when you all first walked into Pilgrim as our “Freshies”… now imagine where the next four years will bring you…
This year started with us losing two of our most beloved Patriots, one of which was a member of the Class of 2012… Having shared the pain of losing Bella, supported each other through the tears, the disbelief, the anger, and eventually the acceptance, this class – the Class of 2012 is forever bonded in a way that most graduating classes simply cannot understand… Unfortunately, the Class of 2013 understands this bond only too well…
And on that note… I need to give a huge shout-out to each and every member of my Semester 1 Psychology Class… (even though you were not all seniors) … you guys were crazy, loud, and a guaranteed laugh and a smile during those tough days following the accident... so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
There are so many of you in this class that I feel such a strong connection with, it would really be impossible for me to single you all out… but I trust that, and I truly hope that you all know how much you have meant to not only me, but to Ms. Kelly and Ms. DeSousa as well…
And to wrap this up, I would normally try to include a relevant quote from a significant person in history, but in this case, the best I have is from… I’m a little ashamed to admit it… Glee…
“A teacher’s job is done, when his students don’t need him anymore.”
So, for those of you I’ve had in class, Mock Trial, executive committee, trips to NYC, Boston, Greece, Italy, or Costa Rica… I have done my best to help educate you and prepare you for the next step you all are about to take…
With much love… and congratulations to the Class of 2012!!!
