That being said, the gun control debate has reached new heights in Iowa where officials have been granting gun permits to the legally blind. The way the law reads is clear, the government cannot deny a citizen from owning a firearm based on physical disability. Blindness is just that... a physical disability.
There are people in Iowa claiming that there is no reason why a blind or visually impaired person should not have the option of owning a firearm... the counter argument seems obvious.
