Despite famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson's declaration that January 1 "carries no scientific significance whatsoever," 2019 is indeed upon us and at this time of year it is common to reflect on the past year and discuss our hopes and goals for the coming one. (Tyson is wrong by the way)

my new years resolution is too give up bad habits and to be nicer to everyone. 1/3/2019 06:17:32 am
For my new years resoution I would like to become better at time management. For example I would like to be able to set more time for homework before I go to practice. Since my practices are so long I dont have time for homework when I get home.

My new year's resolution this year is to do something better with my time off this summer than I previously have, as last summer I worked 9-5, 5 days a week for the most of the summer. This year I would like to do something worth while instead of work all the time.

My New Years resolution is to keep my room clean, do my homework and attempt to look presentable. I will do all of this by not waiting until the last minute to do everything. For example when my room is not clean its because there are clothes on the floor, instead of throwing them on the floor I can put them away or throw them in the hamper. Another example is when I dont do my homework like a week or so before its due I just don't do the assignment at all because its "too much work". My final example is when I look presentable its because I picked out my outfit the night before but when I do it right in the morning I run out of time and just throw on whatever is the most comfy to wear. This is why managing my time more will help me with my resolutions.

A resolution I have is to make sure I focus on doing everything I need to for school. I procrastinate a lot and I need to focus more and make sure I do everything required so I don't fail. 1/4/2019 06:25:06 am
My New Year's resolution is to eat better. The reason for this is because my metabolism is pretty good and I'm active everyday with sports but I take advantage of that by eating pretty much whatever I want which results in me being fairly chubby (but with the way I eat sometimes I should be like 50 pounds heavier). This is also a disadvantage in wrestling which I currently do for the school because there are kids in my weight with less fat who are either stronger or bigger. That is why my resolution is to eat better.

My New Year's resolution is to start applying myself more. With it being my senior year it is very important that I end my high school career strongly. Unfortunately I have been doing awful. Which this is no ones fault but my own for not caring and trying to do the bare minimum. However I know that I can not make it through the rest of the year by doing this nor can I make it through life by doing the bare minimum. So my New Year's resolution is to apply myself more too things that are important to me. If I want something I need to work for it and that's what I plan upon doing.

I'd like to start this year by focusing on myself and the future ahead, much like Janus. Being a senior means that the coming months of my life will be mainly transitional, as I am deep in the college and career planning process. I hope and am willing to work hard for what I wish to achieve, now on a larger scale than ever before. Comments are closed.
