A few schools around the country have begun employing former military personnel who are armed and patrol the grounds of the building. Functionally they are not the same thing as our resource officers who have a host of duties other than patrolling for would-be shooters.
This issue is one that is constantly debated, whether or not more armed people in a school is a deterrent for a potential shooter or if introducing more guns to a school increases the likelihood of a shooting.
Would you be comfortable guards armed with high power rifles patrolling the school? Do you think that would help keep us safe?
